With H&M recently launching their 2014 Conscious Collection (headed by Amber Valletta aka Lydia from Revenge) and giving out £5 gift vouchers if you take in a bag of your old clothes, many other high street brands have caught on to the idea that sustainable, organic fashion doesn't have to be smock dresses and linen trousers (hooray!). So here are some of my picks from the high street that will help you to help the planet, without breaking the bank.
I love this recycled satin-polyester Kimono from H&M's Conscious Collection, the pattern is bold and with 3/4 length sleeves it makes the perfect cover-up for Spring. Kimono £24.99, H&M Conscious Collection |
Pyjama pants are my favourite kind of trousers, they look and feel effortless and are sooooo comfy. These H&M Conscious Collection ones are made from recycled materials. Satin Trousers £19.99, H&M Conscious Collection |
The co-ord trend has always been one of my favourites and I especially love the crop-top-and-skirt combo by Annie Greenabelle. Her collection at Topshop uses a combination of organic and fair-trade cottons. Tipped Edge Crop Top and Bodycon Skirt £25 each, Annie Greenabelle at Topshop |
Every girl needs some stripes in her life and I love this shift dress and 3/4 sleeved top from Zara. Both pieces are made from organic cotton and are surprisingly cheap considering the quality. (left) Organic Cotton Striped Dress £15.99, Zara (right) Organic Cotton T-Shirt £12.99, Zara |
What screams "I'm crazy about recycling" more than this bag? Yes, I have it. Yes, I use it. Yes, I believe in the slogan 100%. (It's made from recycled cotton). Canvas Bag £2, Tiger |
