FESTIVAL ESSENTIALS UNDER £15

With Glastonbury nearly underway and summer upon us, it is officially festival season. Although I am not going to a festival this year which involves camping overnight, I know a lot of people who are and who, despite the lack of showers and excess of mud, still want to look good. Unless you are lucky enough to live in a location which is usually drenched in sunlight rather than UK rain, you need to be prepared for all weather occasions which is why I have compiled a list of my summer fashion festival essentials on a budget.

1. The Denim Shorts - actually no, not denim. I find that the traditional denim short is overall quite uncomfortable for a festival; usually too short and very high waisted meaning that sitting down on grass is an altogether unenjoyable experience. These shorts, however, look like denim but are made of a much lighter material and aren't as tight. Also, with a high-waisted yet elasticated waistband you have the option of tucking in a t-shirt or wearing them with a crop top.

2. The Bralet - a staple piece in any festival wardrobe, this bralet is supportive enough to go braless underneath but is still light and comfortable. With the cross-around straps as well, you will not be too exposed but can still show off some flesh.

3. The Oversized Tee - cool and comfy, this is an essential for hot weather. Can be thrown over as a cover up or worn with shorts and sandals for effortless chic.

Boyfriend Burnout Tee - £13.56

4. The Checked Shirt - throw it on over everything or tie it round your waist; it is always useful to have a cover up with the option of rolling up the sleeves of having it unbuttoned over a dress. This one adds a bit of interest with the open back as well.

5. The Dress - a floaty dress is my failsafe festival option; it can be worn on it's own, with a jacket or layered with a t-shirt on top and still looks great. A neutral colour will give you more options as well and will mean you can wear it on more than one occasion and nobody will notice...

6. The Blanket Cover-Up - if you are going to a festival in England, the weather is almost always unpredictable. This means that even on the sunniest day of the year it can still get cold, especially when the sun goes down. This cover-up is soft and warm yet still light enough to roll up and keep in your bag.

7. The Floral Headband - I think a festival is possibly the only place that it is acceptable to wear a floral headband, but it is an accessory that I love and it will work on anyone, no matter what your hairstyle.

8. The Backpack - so useful for carrying valuables that you don't want to leave in the tent. Also because it's on your back all day you'll have your hands free and won't have to worry about putting it down and leaving it somewhere.

9. The Bumbag - we all know it's a thing again. I actually quite like the bumbag and it's definitely perfect for carrying the essentials if you're only going to a day festival; money, ID, phone. Also, again, it's hands-free!

10. The Sandals - maybe this is wishful thinking, but you don't want to be wearing boots or trainers if it's hot do you? Also these are small and compact meaning they could easily slip into a backpack as a hot-feet backup option. Jelly shoes remind me of childhood which is another plus.

11. The Wellies - because it's better to be safe than have wet feet. Also I think that wellies with a summery dress look great. Especially if they have palm trees on.

11. The Sunglasses - at a festival it is always acceptable to wear sunglasses. Even if it's raining. And you're inside. And it's dark. This holographic pair is great because nobody can see your eyes meaning you can be sleeping through Mumford and Sons and nobody will ever know...

Dora Holographic Sunglasses - £8

12. The raincoat - self explanatory. I have been to a festival. It rained. My coat was not waterproof. I shivered so much I got a back ache and had to go home early. Never again.

Carey Purple Pac-A-Mac - £8
Pretty Little Thing

Happy Camping!
